Dr. Reed is originally from Paducah, Kentucky, and received a Bachelor’s degree in biology and a minor in music from the University of Louisville before graduating from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. She also did an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency with East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Reed has experience with various dental procedures that includes, but not limited to fillings, crowns, partials, dentures and extractions. Ultimately, her goal is to be there for her patients, whether it’s getting them out of pain, rebuilding their confidence in their smile or preventing dental issues in the future, she enjoys getting to know her patients and her hope is to build lasting relationships to support her patients long-term health and well-being.
Dr. Reed says she enjoys so many things about dentistry – it’s people oriented, she gets to do hands-on work and learn things constantly, it’s engaging and offers her a good work-life balance which is important to her. She has always had a passion for biology and healthcare and shadowed an endodontist in high school. That was when she knew dentistry was the career best for her.
Dr. Reed loves playing the cello, which she started playing in middle school and through high school and college. She played in the Kentucky All-State Symphonic Orchestra, participated in the Governor’s School for the Arts for cello in 2013, and played in the Sewanee Summer Music Festival in 2016. She also studied classical music abroad in Salzburg, Austria through the KIIS program while in college. Horseback riding is another major outlet for her. She grew up riding horses from the age of five and competed on the state and national level for dressage and events through the United States Pony Club and United States Dressage Federation. Now, she says she enjoys an easy ride or day around the barn with her horse, Wild.
