Dr. Anze Tavcar was born and raised in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Admitting his enjoyment in challenges, Dr. Tavcar stepped completely out of his comfort zone by leaving his country right after high school and enrolling at Indiana University. While there, he pursued his love of swimming, even competing in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil! Dr. Tavcar then went on to complete dental school at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. Not only did he receive his Doctorate of Dental Medicine, but he also completed a postdoctoral hospital residency at the University of Louisville Hospital. Helping others is what brings Dr. Tavcar joy, which is why he pursued a career in dentistry. He believes everything in dentistry is important, but places a big emphasis on patient communication and management of expectations.

In his spare time, Dr. Tavcar enjoys swimming and playing pickleball. He also appreciates a good cup of coffee. While he has no plans to move back to Slovenia, he loves traveling there at least once a year as the rest of his family still lives there. Dr. Tavcar encourages anyone with a passion for outdoor adventures or fine dining restaurants inside castles to add Slovenia to your travel list.
