Dr. Lakynn Hodgens, a graduate of the University of Louisville (UofL) School of Dentistry, also earned her undergraduate degree in Pan African Studies from the University of Louisville. During her time at the University of Louisville, she was recognized as a Martin Luther King Scholar and a recipient of the Woodford R. Porter Scholarship. Dr. Hodgens attributes her decision to pursue dentistry to the mentorship of Dr. Sherry Babbage, Clinical Assistant Professor at the UofL School of Dentistry, whom she had the privilege of shadowing. For Dr. Hodgens, the most gratifying aspects of her work are fostering strong patient relationships and empowering patients on their path to improved oral health and overall well-being, ultimately helping them achieve confidence and happiness. She knows going to the dentist isn’t everyone’s favorite thing, so she truly focuses on building trust and comfort with her patients and tries to make each visit feel as relaxed and personal as possible.
Dr. Hodgens is originally from Springfield, Kentucky. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling, and caring for her two cats, one dog, and a growing collection of plants.
