October is National Dental Hygiene Month, the time of year we love to celebrate our dental hygienists! Our hygienists are more than just the people who clean our teeth – hygienists are typically smart, hardworking, and have a lot of interests outside of dentistry. This month we wanted to celebrate our hygienists, and all the hygienists out there, by spotlighting them on our blog.
Hi, I’m Mick. I’ve done hygiene for 12 years now. I love it every day. While typically my hands are clean at work, I like to get them dirty and love to fish. Here’s me this summer.
Hello! My name is Kim and I’ve been a dental hygienist for 7 years. I love being a hygienist because I get to help my patients lead a healthier lifestyle. Aside from dentistry, my other passions include traveling and hiking with my husband, practicing yoga, and spending time with my two dogs. The collage of photos are from my recent trip this summer to Nova Scotia, Canada.
Howdy! My name is Lana Pate. I have been a dental hygienist for 11 years. I work in a small town and consider my patients family. My coworkers are awesome and make every day a new adventure. I look forward to getting up and going to work. In my spare time I love to barrel race, spend time with my grandkids, and cook out. There is never a dull moment when it comes to my family and friends. Life is good!!
My name is Jessica Tanselle. I have been a dental hygienist for 12 years and have worked with Mortenson Family Dental since I graduated from the University of Louisville. I am also a Psychic Medium, an Intuitive Life Coach, an actress, and a blogger with Yes Louisville! Check out my website to read my story. You will also find links to my Yes Louisville blog and my upcoming performance with Pandora Productions!
I’m Kristie, and I have enjoyed the career of dental hygiene for 14 years. I believe in working hard and playing hard. The 100% that I strive to give in my career is the same 100% I put into family, traveling, music, being silly and (sometimes forgotten) resting. Apart from working as a hygienist, my husband and I appreciate hiking, biking, traveling, playing music and investing in rental properties. I also enjoy teaching dental assisting students at a local career college.
Hi! My name is Amber. I have been a dental hygienist for 5 years. My favorite part about my career is meeting new people and teaching them new ways to love their pearly whites. I love to travel and try new things when I am outside of the office. This photo was from my mission trip this year to the Casa Shalom orphanage in Guatemala, where I assure you the kids made far more of an impact on me than I ever could make on them.
